My son helped me put up this blog because he is really proud of the fact that I have managed to build my own solar panels. He said I should tell others about how I found a cheap, easy way to make solar cells that now provide me with a substantial amount of free energy. So I hope this blog helps you to build your own solar panel and benefit from having extra money in your pocket.....but beware....building a solar panel can be harder than you might think! (until you learn from my mistakes that is)The Self Built Solar Panels

I spent hours looking at solar panel providers, their products and packages looked good but when it came down to the actual cost to have them installed I just couldn't afford it. I want free or lower energy bills for a reason, I want to save money and spend it on things that will make me and my family happy as well as saving the environment of course! I thought there must be another way, I bet these solar companies charge inflated prices for being green.

I am quite handy around the house with DIY and would like to think I can turn my hand to anything. Feeling confident I searched the internet (I have become a bit of a whizz these days!) and found a few sites that showed you how to build a solar panel. I printed out their instructions and eventually got together the components to enable me to make a solar panel and happily went about the beginnings of my new solar panel. Within 10 minutes I was stuck, could I work out what I was meant to be doing? no. All of those good intentions gone to waste and a garage full of solar panel parts.

Build your own solar panel with a little determination..........

I don't like to give up without a fight so I returned to the internet to find better instructions, I came across Build Your Own Solar Panel with Power 4 Home. This is a website that offers instruction manuals and step by step instructional videos on how to build your solar panels, how to build your own wind turbine and how to store the generated power in batteries...................all for a small charge of about $49 (£31) currently on discount.

At first I was reluctant to pay for instructions because I thought I could find a free solution on the internet but nothing I found was good enough..............can I just say I am so glad that I did buy this. To be honest I wished I had found it sooner it would have saved me so much time. Anyway the instructions worked, they were so easy to follow and the whole thing cost me less than $170 to build. I haven't got around to the wind turbine yet that is my next venture, I will be back to let you know how I get on.
